The Future of Romanian Contemporary Art

Live performance, aprox 30 min
National Dance Center CNDB Bucharest
June 2010

In 2010, public administration decision makers decided to reform the cultural sector. Public funding for culture was becoming scarce, and certain institutions were evicted out of their headquarters. Contemporary Art was being expelled from the institutional body. Art workers tried to respond to these challenges by organizing debates, protests and devising methodologies. But the decision makers turned a blind eye. It was a classical case of preaching to the choir. Because there is no revolution without sexual revolution, this performance proposes a radical solution: urgent solidarisation through the conception of a collective child of Arts.
