Protocols of Singularity

Protocoale ale Singularității: Reflecții pornind de la propria practică artistică / Protocols of Singularity: An Artist on Artistic Practice

“Protocols of Singularity. An artist on artistic practice” is the result of vast research conducted by interdisciplinary artist Larisa Crunțeanu, under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Anca Oroveanu, at the National University of Arts Bucharest. Crunțeanu’s practice resides at the intersection between research and speculation and ranges across various formats and media (performance, video art, and sound art). The present book represents one possible embodiment of this convergence, placed between theory, biographical writing (marked by blue passages that break the narrative linearity of the text) and the analysis of (personal) visual artworks (and beyond).

With a solid methodological approach anchored in transhumanist philosophy, which feeds from postructuralist thinking and political writing, but adding an unexpected autobiographical, almost confessional twist, Crunțeanu brings together diverse philosophical positions: from Deleuze/Guattari to Ranciere, from Virno to Stiegler, from Bachelard to Simondon or Arendt. It is a project that retrospectively explores the unwritten rules by which temporary collectives have been assembled and disassembled around timeless ideas: as protocols of singularity.
