RED GREEN BLUE

A territory as a stand-in for another, further away territory. A time as a stand-in for another time that is yet to come, which reminds one of another, long gone time. In the darkest month of the year on the frozen Iceland, time and space lose their indexicality and start making signs, sending signifiers on loose chases with no ends. Inspired by the science-fiction trilogy Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson, the work takes the form of apparent aimless strolls on an alien territory in search for one’s meaning in the face of one’s imminent decommission.

Red Green Blue is an Insomnia event presenting the video artworks by artist Larisa Crunțeanu, created during her artistic residency in Iceland in December 2021, at ARTAK 350 residency in the framework of ARAC Art & Residency.
